Lymphedma Treatment

Lymphedema is abnormal swelling that can develop in the limbs or torso as a side effect of cancer surgery and/or radiation therapy. Lymphedema can appear in some people during the months or even years after treatment ends.
Lymphedema is most commonly caused by the removal of or damage to lymph nodes as a part of cancer treatment. It results from a blockage in lymphatic system. The blockage prevents lymph fluid from draining well, and the fluid buildup leads to swelling.
